Dr Geoff Donegan BSc (Hons) BMBS (Hons) FRACP
Geoff grew up in country Western Australia and, after completing a science degree in Physics and Mathematics, worked as a speech writer in Canberra, Sydney and Perth for ten years. He then studied medicine at Flinders University, graduating with honours in 2001. He began his early paediatric training at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, completing further training at Princess Margret Hospital for Children in Perth and The Royal Hobart Hospital.
Long fascinated by the emotional and intellectual development of the paediatric brain, Geoff’s clinical emphasis is on children with complex behavioural and emotional difficulties, working to optimize their social, family and academic engagement and support their self-esteem. Geoff has post graduate qualifications in Paediatric Rheumatology and also works within The Royal Hobart’s Paediatric Diabetes Team.
Geoff is passionate about learning from children and their families and communicating his experience. Every year he educates local school students about sleep and screen-time and parents about ADHD, Autism and engaging with their children. He has presented workshops for paediatricians and other health professionals on ADHD and other topics in Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart and Launceston.
Dr Mudasir Mushtaq MBBS MD FRACP
Mudasir is a Consultant Paediatrician with broad paediatric experience from newborn babies through to adolescents. He has special interest in paediatric respiratory medicine and behavioural paediatrics and cares for inpatients at Hobart Private Hospital and Calvary Lenah Valley Hospital. He completed his paediatric training at The Royal Hobart Hospital and The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. Mudasir is a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) – paediatrics and child health division.
During his paediatric training Mudasir has worked in a number of paediatric specialities ranging from paediatric emergency to neonatal intensive care, community paediatrics and general paediatrics. He comes with extensive Paediatric experience in Tasmania, Victoria and overseas.
Mudasir is married to Tayiba, also a doctor and has four-year-old daughter, Mahveen who keeps him busy and active. Outside of work, Mudasir enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and playing and watching cricket. He is excited to be part of paediatric team at the Hobart Kids Clinic and is available to see children of all ages.
Dr Sanda Smith MBBS DCH FRCPCH FRACP Dip Child & Adoles Mental Health
Sanda is a Consultant Paediatrician, sub-specialized in the field of Community Child Health (Developmental Paediatrician). Sanda is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics) and Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health, U.K. She completed her Medical Degree (MBBS) at the University of Medicine 1 Yangon.
She has extensive experience in developmental paediatrics along with Sleep, Autism, Developmental Delay, ADHD, Continence problems and other learning and behavioural difficulties. She worked as a Community Paediatrician in the U.K for 12 years. She has also worked in New South Wales, Royal Hobart Hospital and St Giles.
Sanda is qualified to administer ADOS II, a formal Autism diagnostic tool, performs autism assessments for children of all ages and is an accredited facilitator of Emotional-Based Social Skills Training for children with Autism.
Sanda is qualified to administer the Griffiths III so referrals for formal developmental assessment for children under 6 years of age are welcome. She has also completed a Diploma in Child and Adolescent Mental Health through the University of Leicester, U.K. and is a certified sleep practitioner.
